John Sweet 1936-2021

“Standing on summit of Mount Snowdon, Snowdonia, north Wales, UK 1966”

I have very much enjoyed digitising a collection of 190 images by John Sweet which I was able to buy with copyright transfer on Ebay ( thanks Maureen!).

The pictures are largely of UK holiday destinations visited in the 1960s – Cornwall, Devon, Hereford and the Wye valley, Lake District, various locations in Wales – also interesting images of Florence, Venice, and the Adriatic coast of Italy.

John was born in Brighton, Sussex in 1936 and lived for most of his life there. His main passion in life was electronic engineering and was very involved with radar development. His hobby throughout his life was photography, but after retirement he spent most of his time researching his family ancestry. He died in 2021 after a short illness.

I am delighted to be able to publish his images on my website and also make them available to publishers through Alamy stock photo agency.
