This is the native Black Poplar tree – one of our rarest trees.
Looking for information for this blog I came across this below on the Woodland Trust website. Which proves quite nicely what I was about to say about how having knowledge about the location of a rare tree such as this is very useful! Pictures of this tree have licensed many times.
