I came across these last night by total chance. Both of them are by Roy Haslett and I found them in the Daily Mail.
It is very rewarding to see these in use. I’m getting more pleasure from these ‘found’ photos that I have digitized than from my own.
These are included in a new book about picnics:
A Very British Picnic, is part of the Vintage Britain collection published by small, independent publisher Hoxton Mini Press for £17.95
The top picture ( West Sussex) has also been used in the Guardian today as part of a double page spread about this book but I haven’t found it online.
I have aroud 3100 of these digitised old slides on my Geography Photos website.
