Soil erosion on the Sandlings

Wind causing soil erosion in fields at Sutton Heath, Suffolk Sandlings, England, UK

The Sandlings are in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB – roughly between the River Deben and Southwold. This used to be heathland but much of it has been converted to farming over the last century or so. The photo shows what happens when there are strong winds and bare soil – large scale erosion.
