Lighthouse building in the historic town of Galle, Sri Lanka, Asia

Taken in February 2015. This trip was over a month long and resulted in over 2000 images for editing. The selects, including this image, were added to my ‘geogphotos’ collection at Alamy. This is obviously a very simple straightforward image with room for copy space and/or cropping. The wall in the foreground leads the eye into the picture, the light blue sky provides neutral background allowing the evening sun on the side of the lighthouse to capture attention. The palm trees provide framing and at least partially obscure the ugly metal structure in the background. Anyway, a simple illustrative shot used for a calendar in north America.
