Stena Carron oil drill ship

This photo was taken from a small boat in the Shetland Islands. Days before there had been some sort of Greenpeace protest in which the protestors attached themselves to one of the anchor cables. I had missed the protest but it did make the point very clear that this ship was likely to be newsworthy. I think that there is something on the right hand anchor chain that is from this protest but it is too far away to be important. Here the value of the image is entirely its subject matter – all I am doing is offering a range of slightly different views and angles from which a recent buyer selected this shot. brbkt4

From Google it is possible to keep track of the ship’s movements and news.

At the time of writing it had just left the Canary islands and was off West Africa. The recent licence was for a magazine editorial in Trinidad and Tobago – which is an oil producing country and presumably explains the interest. This is the latest in several licences I’ve had for Stena Carron.
